3 Tips for Growing Long Hair

Hi friends!! I’m assuming you’re here because you want to grow long, healthy hair? At this time last year my hair was about an inch below my shoulders. Right now, my hair hit in the middle of my back (about 2 inches past my bra strap). I hadn’t realized how long it had gotten until I saw a photo from TimeHop. Now, be warned there is no magic product that will make your hair grow faster or thicker. You can fuel your body with healthy foods for it to perform its best. And you can take supplemental vitamins (I don’t). But nothing will make it just start growing the hair…

    Spending Fast: Week 3

11/12/18 – 11/18/18 Hi Friends! This update is coming a few days late, but it is for a good reason. This past week is the BUSIEST week of the year at my work. As I’m writing this on Thanksgiving Day, this is only the second day I’ve had off this month. I am worn out after having worked 70 hours this past week but I’m so grateful to have a job that I really enjoy and work for a company that is doing so well! Working so much this month has made it really easy to not spend a lot of money unnecessarily as well! The only shopping I did…

    Spending Fast: Week 2 Update

11/5/18 – 11/11/18 Hi friends! This second week was not the best for me. I spent 136.35. After an unfortunate Monday, I splurged and bought a wishlist plant of mine (Monstera Thai Constellation) for $60 🙈. And then on Tuesday I took a delivery for work and had some time to kill. Unlucky for me, I decided to kill time an amazing plant nursery and ended up spending $47.68. I paid $3.99 for my Scribd subscription since I had gotten my payout from Ebates and the rest of the charge was covered by that. And I spent $24.68 at Lowe’s buying orchid moss for my plants and buying another wishlist…

    Spending Fast Update: Week One

10/29/18 – 11/4/18 Hi! I decided to start my spending fast on October 29th that way I could do weekly updates over the weekends! I’d say this past week was very easy to not want to spend money unnecessarily. I’m not in the mood to spend money right now which is great, but I know that’ll change soon and it’ll be a challenge to stay strong. This week I spent $694.95. I had 2 different emergency funds over over $1,000 so I decided to withdraw money from one fund to pay off my credit card that was carrying a balance of $638.05 (though, I was not being charged interest). I…

The Start of My Spending Fast

I’m not sure how to even start this post, but I’m starting this blog to try and keep myself accountable. I’ve been stressed for quite a while about the amount of debt I have. I went to a private college for 2.5 years and accumulated $47,808.65 in student loans!! After a lot of thinking about what I wanted to do with my life, I realized that I did not want to spend my life working a 9-5 desk job. I was absolutely miserable every day going to classes learning about things I really didn’t care about so I decided to take a semester off. I wanted to work for a…

    Plant Parent Must-Haves

This post contains affiliate links. Click here to read more. Hi friends! Being a #PlantMom has brought me so much happiness but at times it can get really stressful! Below is a list of items that I use regularly to help keep my plant babes as happy as possible! 1) Humidifier In my home, the humidity is always in the 40% range. For most of my tropical plants that’s too low and can cause the leaves to curl and also cause the leaf tips to brown (though, browning could also be caused by underwatering). I used to use this Crane humidifier and while it worked pretty well, keeping humidity in…

    The Best Book Subscription Service

I always try to have an ebook with me, no matter where I am. If I’ve got some extra time, you can bet I’ve probably got my nose in a book. I love the idea of audiobooks but I don’t have the money to pay $15 a month for one audiobook from Audible. And I’ve fallen victim to spending upwards of $40 a month on the cheap $3-5 dollar books on Amazon or iBooks. And I hadn’t even realized I had spent that much! Imagine my shock when I looked at my bank account and realized how much I’d spent. I was recently scrolling through my Instagram and saw a…

    About Me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my little slice of the internet! I’m Sarah, a 21 year old college dropout trying to swim her through a mountain of student loan debt. I’m also #PlantMom and an avid book reader. A year ago I was going to a small private college and was going absolutely insane. I hated waking up every morning knowing that I would be spending all day and part of the night studying for a career I know longer wanted. I took the leap with the support of my parents and took a semester off to regroup. Well, that semester has now turned into two semesters. And I’m still…
